Symphony of the Abyss and Starlight: Twin Stars of Ice and Water

The Abyssal Teacher and the Pursuer: Predictions for Genshin Impact 5.7 Banner
In a corner of the Teyvat Continent, rumors about the Abyss and stars streak across the sky like meteors, leaving endless room for imagination. An accidental leak of information has allowed us to glimpse the banner lineup of Genshin Impact version 5.7, with two new characters sparking countless speculations and anticipation. They are: Zhongli, the so-called “Abyssal Rider,” and Thalia, who possesses a mysterious water-element shield.
On this land shrouded in destiny, every new character is a puzzle waiting to be solved. Zhongli, the warrior from the Abyss, will make her debut as an ice-element, one-handed sword user. Thalia, the water-element shield user, will redefine the support role in a brand-new way.
Whispers of the Abyss
In a world intertwined with the Abyss and stars, Zhongli’s legend resembles a tragic elegy. As the disciple of the “Abyssal Rider” Tsaritsa, her martial arts hold the essence of the Abyss’s mysteries. In Dainsleif’s memories, she was always silent but would pour out her teachings at critical moments, imparting the Abyss’s secrets without reservation to her disciple.
It was a story forgotten by time. When a young Ajax accidentally entered the Abyss and awakened the sleeping Star-Devouring Whale, Zhongli chose to reveal the truth to Dainsleif. Over three months, she taught him everything she knew without holding back. This mentorship became the turning point that changed both their fates. When Ajax returned to the surface, only three days had passed, and the rift in the Abyss seemed as if it had never existed. The cycle of fate made Dainsleif the Executor of the Harbingers, while Zhongli’s whereabouts became an eternal mystery.
Symphony of Ice and Water
In Genshin Impact 5.7, Zhongli will debut as an ice-element, one-handed sword user. Her skill design is filled with the mysterious aura unique to the Abyss. The name of her skill, “Beyond the Laws,” is as abstract as Abyssal philosophy. When a character in the party triggers an ice-element reaction, Zhongli can create illusory fissures near enemies. This ability evokes the Abyss’s concept of intertwined reality and illusion.
Meanwhile, “All Streams Return to Silence” reveals her deep connection with the water element. When a water or ice-element character in the party deals damage, Zhongli gains the Stygian Crossing effect. This ability suggests a unique link between her and the water element in the Abyss.
Regarding her artifact set, the “Abyssal Sonata” introduced in version 5.5 is likely her exclusive set. The 2-piece bonus provides ice-element damage enhancement, while the 4-piece bonus introduces a mechanism steeped in Abyssal style: when her elemental energy is depleted, her normal attacks and elemental burst damage enhance each other, though this effect deactivates for a short period afterward.
Thalia, the water-element shield user, will also appear in version 5.7. As the first water-element shield character, her elemental burst will provide shields to the party and increase the team’s attack speed based on her maximum HP. This design is reminiscent of the mysterious guardians of the Abyss.
Symphony of Destiny
In this world intertwined with stars and the Abyss, every character is a key to unlocking a new destiny. Zhongli, the Abyssal warrior, and Thalia, the water-element shield user, are about to embark on their journey in Teyvat. Their stories, skills, and fates will soon be revealed in the upcoming version, drawing players deeper into the mysteries of this vast world.
